# Fix invalid address error

The **"invalid [address](https://glossary.blockstream.com/address-bitcoin/)"** error appears when the address you are trying to send to **does not belong to the same network as your wallet**. For example, this can happen if you're using a Bitcoin wallet and try to send to a Testnet address, or if you try to send to an address from a completely different [blockchain](https://glossary.blockstream.com/blockchain/).

To resolve this error, double-check that the address you're entering matches the network your wallet is using.

- **Bitcoin** wallet addresses usually start with **1**, **3**, or **bc1**.
- **Liquid** wallet addresses typically begin with **Q** or **VJ** (or use confidential formats starting with **CTE** or **ex**).
- Testnet wallet addresses usually start with **m**, **2**, or **tb1**.

If you're unsure which network your wallet is using, check the network setting in the Blockstream app or review how the wallet was originally set up.
